Florida

Maine

Maryland

• Black bass – 5 bass (up to 12” max length) March 1 to June 15, and is closed for fishing. They allow catch and release for ethical sports fishing. For bigmouth and smallmouth bass.
• Striped and hybrid striped – 2 bass (with one being over 30” may length)
• Rock bass or redeye – 15 bass (no size limit)

Massachusetts

• Black bass – 5 bass (minimum 15” max length) Only from May 18- Sept. 8
• Striped bass – 1 bass (can be between 28-35” in total length)

Michigan

• Black bass – 5 bass (up to 14” max length) Starts from 3rd Sat. of June to November 30. The rest of the year is caught and released only.

Minnesota

• Black bass – 6 bass (in the northeast zone only) Must have a combined mix of both largemouth and smallmouth bass. The rest of the state is catching and releasing only.

Nebraska

• Black bass – 5 bass (depending on where you fish the length will range from 12-21” for max length on only one fish out of 5)
• Striped, white, or wiper bass – 3 bass (up to 16” in max length) Only found at Willow Creek Reservoir, Elwood Reservoir, and Wagon Train reservoir.

Statewide bag limits only allow 16” max length on striped bass from inland waters with a limit of 15 bass per person.

Nevada

For ocean fishing in Texas, the rules are different than freshwater fishing

Bass fish including bigmouth, smallmouth, or spotted are 1 to 2 bass fish per day ranging from 12-15″ minimum length.

Rivers

Bass fish including bigmouth, smallmouth, or spotted are 1 to 2 bass fish per day ranging from 11-20″ minimum length.

Reservoirs and tributaries

Striped bass and striped bass hybrids that are landlocked are 2-4 bass per day ranging from June to November fishing seasons. Some require mixing with most having no length limit.

Coastal

• Striped bass less than 18” between 2 bass caught per day
• White bass – 5 bass (no length limit)
• Rock bass and redeye: 25-50 bass (no length limit) Depending on the region
• Roanoke Bass – 25 bass (no length limit)

Washington
